Drishyam The Conclusion Box Office: Ajay Devgn starrer becomes biggest October 2 opener, beats War by Rs. 8.68 cr

Drishyam The Conclusion has added another major milestone to its impressive opening-day run. The Ajay Devgn starrer has emerged as the highest-grossing film released on October 2, collecting Rs. 62.03 crore on Day 1 at the India box office. The film has surpassed War, which had collected Rs. 53.35 crore on its October 2 release.

The Abhishek Pathak directorial has therefore beaten War by Rs. 8.68 crore, registering a substantially bigger opening than the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer. The performance is particularly significant considering War had enjoyed one of the biggest opening days for an October 2 release.

The list of biggest October 2 openers now sees Drishyam The Conclusion comfortably at the top, followed by War at Rs. 53.35 crore. MS Dhoni – The Untold Story stands third with Rs. 24.10 crore, narrowly ahead of Bang Bang, which had collected Rs. 24.08 crore. Besharam follows with Rs. 21.56 crore, while Singh Is Bliing had opened at Rs. 20.67 crore.

Interestingly, Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 had collected Rs. 18.50 crore on October 2, followed by Judwaa 2 at Rs. 18 crore, Vikram Vedha at Rs. 13.85 crore and Sui Dhaaga – Made In India at Rs. 11.75 crore.

The scale of Drishyam The Conclusion's opening becomes even clearer from its progression through Day 1. Bollywood Hungama reported that the film had collected Rs. 15.33 crore by noon, with approximately 41% occupancy across around 5,700 shows. By 5 PM, the film had jumped to Rs. 33.50 crore, with occupancy rising to 52% across approximately 8,500 shows.

The strong growth through the day ultimately helped the film close with Rs. 62.03 crore, underlining the strong audience demand for the concluding chapter of the Drishyam franchise.

With this opening, Drishyam The Conclusion has not only delivered a career-best start for Ajay Devgn but has also established a new benchmark for films releasing on October 2.
