It was a very good Saturday for The Diplomat as collections pretty much doubled up over Friday. Given the kind of hold that the film has been demonstrating all this while, it was a given that the film will jump well by 50%-75% on Saturday. However doubling up has given the film an added momentum which means now the John Abraham starrer will end up being a fair success at least.
The film collected Rs. 2.52 crores on Tuesday which is a very good jump when compared to Friday collections of Rs. 1.27 crores. Anything over Rs. 2 crores would have been good and now that Rs. 2.50 crores mark has been breached, one waits to see if Rs. 2.75-3 crores could come in today. If that indeed turns out to be the case, then the film is in a real chance to stay over 1 crore mark from Monday till Thursday as well.
The Shivam Nair directed film has now touched Rs. 23.24 crores and now Rs. 30 crores mark is set to be surpassed in two weeks. Post that the shows will get reduced due to arrival of Sikandar but then it will have an open Friday and Saturday, and then it will also benefit from Eid season. This means 35 crores will be comfortably surpassed with an outside chance of even hitting Rs. 40 crores lifetime.
