Filmmaker Siddhath Anand’s Fighter has been in the news since long as it’s the first film where Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone have been paired opposite each other in all these years. Following this, the film’s trailer added onto the excitement as it promised some edge-of-the-seat aerial action for the first time on Indian screens. Fighter opened in India with a decent number of Rs. 24.60 crores. But the movie showed tremendous growth on Day 2 on Republic Day by scoring an impressive Rs. 41.20 crores.
Fighter has been performing well in overseas market too. Bollywood Hungama reported yesterday that the movie grossed USD 1 million outside India on Day 1. Just like India, the film has taken a huge jump in the overseas box office too on the second day.
At the UK box office, Fighter has grossed an impressive 187,073 USD (Rs. 1.55 crores) from 243 screens and 264,859 USD (Rs. 2.20 crores) in Australia from 119 screens. The movie managed to gross 41,614 USD (Rs. 34.59 lakhs) in New Zealand from 38 screens.
Fighter also stars Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover in pivotal roles as air force officers. The movie is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Siddharth Anand and wife Mamta Anand’s banner Marflix Pictures.
