After that Republic Day jump, it was expected that in just three days, Fighter will score a century at the box office. That would have made it Bollywood’s first Rs. 100 Crores Club film of 2024 in a matter of the opening weekend itself. Of course, there hasn’t been any other biggie released this year which had a potential to score a century. Nonetheless, it was just a matter of time that the film went past the Rs. 100 crores mark and if not yesterday then that will happen today since the gap is of just a few crores.
While the film opened in the 20s on Thursday [Rs. 24.60 crores], it zoomed straight to the 40s on Friday, Republic Day [Rs. 41.20 crores]. Now on Saturday, a regular day with a segment of patrons enjoying an off-day, the film brought in Rs. 27.60 crores. This is good because the collections are greater than Thursday, which was a bare minimum requirement too.
Nonetheless, the good part is that there would be good momentum all over again today and then stability from Monday onwards should ensure a ‘success’ tag at least for the Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor starrer. The film has reached Rs. 93.40 crores now and should find itself in Rs. 125-130 crores range by the close of weekend.
