Fighter has just fallen short of Krrish 3 by a few lakhs and as a result not found a place amongst the Top-3 biggest opening days ever of Hrithik Roshan. The film collected Rs. 24.60 crores at the box office and while it’s ahead of Agneepath, it’s below Krrish 3. Both these films were released years ago, which means on fair value, their collections are much higher. Also, in fact, Bang Bang, which was the first ever combo for Hrithik and director Siddharth Anand, is a bit ahead at Rs. 27.54 crores. As for their second film together, War, it’s in a different league altogether.
The good part though is that the film is far ahead of Hrithik’s post pandemic film Vikram Vedha. That film was a non-starter as it barely went past the Rs. 10 crores mark and now that the superstar has returned in his full of swag-n-style avatar, the audiences have come back.
This is how the Top-10 opening day numbers for Hrithik Roshan starrers look like:
War – Rs. 53.35 crores
Bang Bang – Rs. 27.54 crores
Krrish 3 – Rs. 25.50 crores
Fighter – Rs. 24.60 crores
Agneepath – Rs. 23 crores
Super 30 – Rs. 11.83 crores
Vikram Vedha – Rs. 10.58 crores
Kaabil – Rs. 10.43 crores
Kites – Rs. 10 crores
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Rs. 8 crores
Since Hrithik does very few films, his Top-10 doesn’t read like several records in the offering. He is in fact the only superstar to still have a film (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) in Top-10 which has first day collections of less than 10 crores. With Fighter entering the list, the film which has gone out of the list is Krrish and that has an opening day of just 6 crores (though it was a huge number back in time).
One now looks forward to how big goes Fighter turn out to be when it comes to opening weekend numbers, and the indications so far are that it will certainly go much higher.
