The Varun Dhawan starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo was released last Friday across 3375+ screens in the domestic market. Directed by Raj Mehta the film which also sees Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Singh in lead roles opened to a good response from the critics. In fact, with positive feedback the business of the film saw good growth over its opening weekend, and continued its steak on the subsequent week days as well.
In this box office report, we look at the opening week collections of Jugjugg Jeeyo while comparing the same to Varun Dhawan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 53.66 cr Jugjugg Jeeyo has emerged as Varun Dhawan’s seventh all-time highest opening week grosser. In fact, the business of the film has managed to surpass Varun’s previous releases like Dishoom which collected Rs. 53.34 cr, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania which collected Rs. 53.31 cr, and Street Dancer 3D which collected Rs. 52.94 cr. However, Jugjugg Jeeyo does not surpass certain other releases like Dilwale which collected Rs. 102.65 cr, Judwaa 2 which collected Rs. 98.08 cr, Kalank which collected Rs. 73.70 cr, Badrinath Ki Dulhania which collected Rs. 73.66 cr, ABCD 2 which collected Rs. 71.78 cr, and Sui Dhaaga - Made in India which had collected Rs. 62.50 cr.
Currently Jugjugg Jeeyo continues to run in theatres and is expected to see another jump in business over its second weekend. In fact, trade predictions state that with the two new releases viz. Rashtra Kavach Om, and Rocketry not finding an audience, the business of Jugjugg Jeeyo will greatly benefit.
