Jugjugg Jeeyo Box Office: Film draws in Rs. 53.66 cr in Week 1; ranks as seventh highest opening week grosser of 2022

The Raj Mehta directorial Jugjugg Jeeyo starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Singh was released a week ago. Produced by Dharma Productions and Vaicom 18, the film which released across 3375+ screens in the domestic market opened on a good note. Following this, Jugjugg Jeeyo which received positive feedback from the critics saw an increase in collections on its first Saturday and Sunday respectively.

In this box office report, we look at the collections of Jugjugg Jeeyo in its opening week while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Collecting Rs. 53.66 cr, Jugjugg Jeeyo has managed to emerge as the seventh highest opening week grosser of 2022. In fact, the business of the film has managed to surpass the collections of previous releases like Bachchhan Paandey which collected Rs. 47.98 cr, Heropanti 2 which collected Rs. 23.60 cr, and Runway 34 which had collected Rs. 22.25 cr. However, despite the immense promotions and hype the business of Jugjugg Jeeyo does not manage to compete with the collections of certain other releases like KGF - Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 268.63 cr, RRR which collected Rs. 132.59 cr, The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 101.49 cr, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which collected Rs. 92.05 cr, Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 68.93 cr, and Samrat Prithviraj which had collected Rs. 55.05 cr. On the other hand, when compared to non-dubbed Hindi Bollywood release, Jugjugg Jeeyo manages to emerge as the fifth highest opening week grosser.

Going further, with two new releases viz. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Rashtra Kavach Om, releasing today, the business of Jugjugg Jeeyo is expected to see a decline. However, despite this trade predictions state that the film which crossed the Rs. 50 cr mark just recently, will emerge as the audiences first choice in theatres.
