The Kashmir Files Box Office: Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial does never seen before business in Week One; collects Rs. 97.30 crore
After spending the first week at the box office, The Kashmir Files currently stands at Rs. 97.30 crores. The film started at Rs. 3.55 crores on its first day and then brought in Rs.18.05 crores on its seventh day, which is five times the business. That has never ever happened even for those films that may have started around the Rs. 1 crore mark and here the opening was still reasonable.
In fact filmmaker, Vivek Agnihotri’s last film The Tashkent Files had done a lifetime business of Rs. 17.21 crores and here the film is doing more than that for the last three days since Tuesday, which pretty much tells the tale. This is the kind of business that multi-crore budgeted All Time Blockbusters do and we are talking about a film where the total budget is Rs. 15 crores. For a film to bring in more than its entire budget on a daily basis is unseen, unheard, and unprecedented.
The film is set to grow tremendously today due to Holi and then the rest of the weekend is going to be out of the world as well. That will ensure that by the end of the second weekend, more than Rs. 150 crores will comfortably come in with some kind of possibility of even Rs. 175 crores being reached. Post that, an entry into the 200 Crore Club will be a cakewalk with a lot more to be added after that milestone.
