Unchai showed very good growth on Saturday as collections came up to Rs. 3.64 crores. Considering the fact that the film had opened at Rs. 1.81 crores, a 100% (or near 100%) jump in numbers would have been optimal and that's what has happened. Word of mouth is good to very good and even though the film is not catering to all segment and age group of audiences, the fact there are footfalls is gladdening. The film is primarily reaching out to the class audiences and doesn't have much to offer to youth, due to which there is a segmentation that comes in.
Still, the trending is very good so far and while there would be a jump in numbers today as well, it has to be seen that would there be further 50%+ ride in collections or would it be lesser now considering the capacity factor. Also, Sunday night shows won't really have great traction since the film has a running time of over two and a half hours. So far, the film has collected Rs. 5.45 crores.
Meanwhile, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is doing very good business with Rs. 14 crores* coming in. The film was quite good on Friday with Rs. 12.50 crores coming in and now with a growth in numbers on Saturday, it's a really impressive trending for the Marvel superhero offering. The film is anyways exceeding expectations and Sunday is going to be quite good as well with the weekend total set to cross the Rs. 40 crores mark. For long there was a draught of footfalls in theatres but this is the film which has ended it with Rs. 26.50 crores* been accumulated so far.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
