Kantara Box Office: Hindi version has very good growth on Saturday, set to be a success in Hindi too

Kantara (Hindi) is set to be another south success at pan-India levels. It has come as an absolute surprise as till about 10 days back no one outside Karnataka and other south states had even heard about the film and now it has started fetching audiences at a rapid pace across the Hindi belt too. Just like Karthikeya 2 which had wanted success on its own outside Telugu as well, even Kantara now seems to be heading in the same direction as a Kannada product.

This was seen from the huge jump seen on Saturday when Rs. 2.50 crores* came in when Friday had stood at Rs. 1.27 crores. This is really good because even with all the hype and positive word of mouth going in its favour, at best one expected a 50% jump due to the regional appeal. However to see a 100% rise in collections is truly superb because it pretty much shows that audiences have taken to the film and now it can go anywhere after collecting Rs. 3.77 crores* so far.

Of course, it will also boil down to how Sunday turns out to be. If there is even 50% jump in numbers today then it would be quite good as the film would be playing at good levels then. Anything more than that would be absolutely fantastic. However if the growth stays under the 50% mark then it would all boil down to the stability from Monday onwards. That would signify the difference between whether Kantara would turn out to be a 20 crores success or something that finds itself in Rs. 30-40 crores zone.
