Gangubai Kathiawadi Day 4 Box Office Collections: Alia Bhatt starrer has excellent Monday; collects Rs. 8.19 cr

It’s going to be a very good success for Alia Bhatt as Gangubai Kathiawadi is pretty much coming on its own. If the opening exceeded expectations and then the weekend growth was quite good, it’s the Monday hold which has further sealed a ‘success’ tag for the film. Monday collections have turned out to be Rs. 8.19 crores now and while it is indeed an admirable feat for any film, for Gangubai Kathiawadi to do that despite an adult subject is all the more remarkable.

So far, the film has collected Rs. 47.31 crores and that’s far more than what certain cynics were assuming would be the lifetime numbers. The film is over performing with every passing day and today again the Rs. 10 crores mark should be comfortably crossed. For a women centric film, it would be for the first time ever that a double digit score would be scored on a weekday and that would be yet another record worth celebrating.

Now it’s a given that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film would be entering the Rs. 100 Crore Club and while the trend so far indicates a much bigger haul in the offering, it would be the second weekend that would be the deciding factor. Competition in the second week won’t be huge either for the film and that would mean a largely clear run for 14 days at a stretch.
