Two months after his arrest in the alleged pornography racket case, businessman and Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra has been released from jail. Kundra was released from the Arthur Road jail around 11:30 am on September 21.
A Mumbai court, on September 20, granted bail to Raj Kundra in the pornographic content case and the court asked him to furnish a surety of Rs 50,000. According to India Today, advocate Prashant Patil, representing Raj Kundra, said, "It was not Kundra or Ryan Thorpe who were deciding what was to be uploaded. In the 1400-page chargesheet, there was not a single piece of evidence showing that Kundra was uploading."
Shilpa Shetty was one of the witnesses named in the chargesheet. According to Indian Express, she was not aware of what her husband was up to. She said, “I am not aware about the Hotshots or Bollyfame apps. I was too busy with my own work and hence, not aware about what Kundra was up to. Kundra started Viaan Industries Limited in 2015, and I was one of the directors till 2020 when I resigned due to personal reasons.”
Minutes after the bail news broke in the news, Shilpa Shetty took to her Instagram story, and shared, “Rainbows exist to prove that beautiful things can happen after a bad storm — Roger Lee.”
Shilpa and Raj’s son Viaan shared a picture of himself with his mother and sister Samisha from their Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. He wrote, “Life as long as Lord Ganesha’s trunk, Trouble as small as his mouse, moments as sweet as modaks. Ganpati Bappa Morya! ❤️”
